The Air Bases I was stationed at were Mukdahan, 1st detachment 621 TCS/SP, Combat Support Grp. It was a detachment out of Udorn RTAFB but was only 100 miles south of NKP so they sent me down TDY that turned into a PCS. I can tell you it was a SP heaven, and we only had about fifteen SPs. SP commander was a TSgt, and I believe four-men Flights for SP vehicles. We only had one jeep, and all the posts were within three minutes walking distance from CSC. Best duty station!
The next duty station I was at was Don Muang that was in Bangkok Thailand. When I first got there we had planes, but after a while the Wing left and we started doing Customs work checking stowed baggage and hand carried on GIs going back to the states. We had three dope-dogs used to check the baggage, with and I believe five-men Flights. The Flight Commanders were SSgts, and while I was there they sent me down town where I worked for the Army on Town Patrol for a while, checking bars and doing security checks on military compounds.
I started my tour in Oct 1967 and came home in May of 1972. Well I had better shut up and go back to work: I work for Anheuser Bush Brewery, in Jacksonville Florida.
