In Line of Duty
TSgt Robert B. Butler

VSPA member Kennedy, Michael W. has reported news from California as follows:

For anyone who had not heard, a Security Policeman, TSgt Robert B. Butler, was killed in the Line of Duty Saturday (01-10-98) morning while making a traffic stop at Edwards Air Force Base, California. The suspect later killed himself and it was determined that he had also killed another airman and dumped the body near a base landfill prior to TSgt Butler stopping him.

I obtained the below information from the 95th SF First Sergeant and thought I would pass it along to others who might be interested. I am planning on attending the funeral along with some other local law enforcement people who are former security police.
