My VSPA Brothers and Sisters,
It’s election year and I have submitted my Bio for a second term as President of VSPA. I never realized the amount of work that goes on behind the scenes. There have been conference calls, three-way calls, calls with the BX, calls with the Reunion Brat, individual calls with Board members and regular members that have questions about VSPA. It’s not a 9 to 5 job but something most of the time. It’s rewarding to see the progress that gets accomplished in planning our reunions.
The Knife-13 committee, headed by Jerry Nelson, is in constant progression. The memorial for Luke AFB has been ordered and should arrive in plenty of time to have it installed before our reunion. Jerry has led this committee with many hours over the course of two years with the two memorials that will finish in Phoenix this October.
Our next reunion will be in Nashville, and many are looking forward to this being our first there. Planning is starting and we hope to have things lined up before too long.
There are some transitions going on with the BOD, in a recent Conference call, it was voted on that there will be no reserved seating at the Banquet on Saturday night. Our hope is that you will have the opportunity to sit with someone you don’t know and make new friends. We’ll see how it works out. One of the considerations was there never has been a seating issue at the reception dinner on Wednesday night.
I hope to see everyone in Phoenix and are planning to have a great time visiting with family and friends. Wishing everyone health and happiness.
Onward!
Larry Fleming, President
